Haunted Mansion (2023 Film) | Exploring the Humor in the Supernatural

Prepare for a thrilling blend of supernatural horror and comedy with "Haunted Mansion," the upcoming film based on Walt Disney's iconic theme park attraction. Directed by Justin Simien and written by Katie Dippold, this highly anticipated movie features an all-star cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Rideback, "Haunted Mansion" is a reboot of the 2003 film of the same name. The story follows Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and Travis (Chase W. Dillon) as they enlist a team of experts (LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, and Danny DeVito) to help them exorcise their haunted mansion and rid it of malevolent spirits.

The journey to bring this film to life has been a long one. Plans for a reboot began in 2010 with Guillermo del Toro attached as writer and producer, envisioning a heightened reality setting. However, after years in development, the project underwent changes, and in 2020, Katie Dippold joined as the new screenwriter. Justin Simien came on board as the director, and the stellar cast was assembled from July to October, including the exciting additions of Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto.

Filming took place from October 2021 to February 2022 in New Orleans and Atlanta, with stunning visual effects handled by DNEG and Industrial Light & Magic. The film's score, composed by Kris Bowers, adds an extra layer of suspense and excitement to the haunting tale.

Mark your calendars for July 28, 2023, when "Haunted Mansion" will be released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Get ready to embark on a spine-tingling adventure that will take you inside the eerie world of the haunted mansion. With its stellar cast, captivating visuals, and a perfect blend of horror and humor, this film promises to be a must-watch for fans of the supernatural and Disney enthusiasts alike.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the release date and prepare to enter the chilling realm of the "Haunted Mansion" in the summer of 2023.
